(used when necessary) ¨ - This includes the use of drop clothes in and around the specified staining area. ¨ -This includes protecting areas around your house to ensure the safety of your property.
2. Stain and Seal ¨ Deck must be dry for a minimum of 24 hours before stain or sealer is applied. ¨ A combination of spray, rolling and brushing will be used to apply the stain or sealer. Sprayers may be used on fences and lattice. ¨ We use a clear, semi-transparent or solid stain. ¨ Decisions will be made at the time of the estimate, based on homeowners request and our recommendations.
3. Clean-Up and Inspection ¨ Proper removal of all coverings and taping. ¨ Proper waste removal. ¨ Product clean up and equipment removal. ¨ Final deck inspection with homeowner.
The stain and sealant choice is important! We use Cabot Stains for our decks. We have had the best luck with them over the years and they also have the highest rating from Consumer Reports for all deck stains. You can see their website at: http://www.cabotstain.com/shared_frames.cfm?area=towoca&cabot=1. When there, click on the "Exterior" section and then select "Clear Solution"--this is the oil-based product that we use for most decks. On the left, you can see the colors. Most people choose the Pacific Redwood, Natural or Cedar color. A variety of solid and semi-transparent stains are also available. When possible, we will try to match the color to your existing deck.
